Tribute by Angela at Sue s Memorial Service held in Medway Crematorium Friday 26 June. Everyone here today have their own personal memories of Sue, whether it be from their time spent at school, as former neighbours, as a former work colleague or as a former customer at one of Sue’s shops. I would like to share with you not my own memories as a sister but extracts from a tribute that was paid at Sue’s funeral on 15 June at Mayenne in France by Edith Powney. Edith first met Sue just over a year ago and she recognised these personal qualities in Sue - as someone who was very hardworking - someone who loved her work and loved working with people - someone who was very skilful and highly organised - someone who always was cheerful and full of life, and who was warm hearted In Edith I believe Sue had found someone whom she could confide in and to find comfort from this. Sue wanted to protect the family from the thought that she might not have long to live as her illness took hold in February. Over these last few months Edith became a very close family friend. She supported Keith, Kirsty and Chelsea in so many ways. She acted as their interpreter, gaining medical information on Sue’s condition and progress and, she made herself available to them 24 hrs a day. In her latter days Sue confronted the doctors for the truth, she was told her condition was untreatable and faced death with great courage. Sue, though you have gone from us, you will never be forgotten.
